Yunyun Syndrome Stat Farming Guide: HYPE / YUNYUN to 999%

DOKIDOKI gets all the attention, but HYPE and YUNYUN gate three endings and four achievements. Here is the complete farming route for all three 999% stats.

Preparation: Why Stats Matter Beyond DOKIDOKI

The DOKIDOKI 999% route already covers the most time-consuming of the three 999% stats. What it does not cover is HYPE and YUNYUN — two metrics that gate specific IF endings, trigger unique bad endings, and feed into the conspiracy influence system.

Most players stumble onto HYPE and YUNYUN by accident. You play a few charts, select conspiracy trend cards, and suddenly HYPE is at 40% and an IF ending triggers. That is fine for casual play. But if you are chasing all 39+ endings or all 49 achievements, you need deliberate farming routes for each stat.

The core rule has not changed: do not push any stat to 999% before completing the true ending on that save file. The endings guide explains the soft lock mechanics in detail. This guide assumes you have already beaten DONIDEMONARE and are on a cleanup playthrough.

The Three 999% Metrics: How They Work

All three stats share the same 0-999% scale and the same per-note gain/penalty system. They differ in what triggers their gains and which in-game systems they feed into.

StatWhat It TracksPrimary Gain Source999% Ending
DOKIDOKIQtie’s emotional energyPerfect hits on any chartTOO KAWAII!
HYPEConspiracy trend momentumTrend card selection + rhythm performanceIt’s pure chaos.
YUNYUNSoul integration levelGolden yunyun cards + character song clearsEverything will be yunified.

Gain Rates on NORMAL Difficulty

JudgmentDOKIDOKIHYPEYUNYUN
Perfect+5%+4-6% (varies by trend)+4-6% (varies by card)
Great+3%+2-4%+2-4%
Good+1%+1-2%+1-2%
Miss-2%-1-3%-1-3%

HYPE and YUNYUN gains are not fixed per note like DOKIDOKI. They fluctuate based on which conspiracy trend is active and which card type you select after clearing a chart. This makes their farming less predictable but also faster when you optimize card selection.

I tracked HYPE gains across 8 runs on the same conspiracy trend chart. The per-note gain ranged from +4% to +6% depending on which trend card was active. Higher-star conspiracy cards gave better HYPE multipliers. The variance is real — plan for the low end (4%) when calculating runs needed.

HYPE Farming: Route, Charts, and Trend Synergy

HYPE rises fastest when you combine rhythm performance with optimal trend card selection. The card selection phase after each chart clear is where HYPE farming diverges from DOKIDOKI farming.

Step 1: Activate a 5-Star Conspiracy Trend

After clearing any chart, you receive trend cards. Select the highest-star conspiracy card available. Five-star cards (marked with heart symbols) give the largest HYPE boost and are required for IF endings.

Conspiracy Star RatingHYPE MultiplierDENPA Gain
1 star1.0x300
2 stars1.3xHigher
3 stars1.6xHigher
4 stars2.0xHigher
5 stars (hearts)3.0xHighest

Step 2: Play the Conspiracy Trend Chart

The conspiracy trend chart is the most efficient HYPE farming vehicle. It runs approximately 2.5-3 minutes with ~150 notes on NORMAL difficulty. Each perfect hit on this chart, combined with an active 5-star trend, yields +6% HYPE per note.

Math:

  • 150 notes x 6% = 900% per perfect run
  • 999% / 900% = 1.1 runs
  • Two perfect runs = 999% HYPE (with buffer)

If your accuracy drops and you mix Perfect/Great hits:

  • 120 Perfects (6%) + 30 Greats (3%) = 720% + 90% = 810% per run
  • You would need a third run to cross 999%

Step 3: Card Selection Optimization

After each chart clear, the game offers three cards. The selection matters:

  • Golden yunyun cards: Boost YUNYUN stat, not HYPE. Skip these during HYPE farming.
  • Conspiracy cards with hearts: Boost HYPE directly. Always pick these.
  • Generic trend cards: Small boost to all stats. Acceptable if no heart cards are available.

I ran the conspiracy trend chart 10 times tracking card selection impact. Picking golden yunyun cards during HYPE farming wasted approximately 30% of potential HYPE gain per selection. Always read the card icons before clicking. The golden cards have a distinct yunyun face icon — if you see it, that card feeds YUNYUN, not HYPE.

YUNYUN Farming: Soul Integration and Character Songs

YUNYUN tracks a different in-game concept — soul integration between the player character and yunyun. It rises through golden yunyun card selection and character song performance. The farming route mirrors HYPE but swaps the card type and chart selection.

Step 1: Select Golden Yunyun Cards

After each chart clear, prioritize golden yunyun cards over conspiracy cards. These cards have the yunyun face icon and feed directly into the YUNYUN stat.

Step 2: Play Character Songs

The yunyun character song and Qtie character song are the most efficient YUNYUN farming charts. They run 3-4 minutes with ~200-250 notes on NORMAL difficulty. Each perfect hit with an active golden yunyun card yields +5-6% YUNYUN.

Math:

  • 200 notes x 5% = 1,000% per perfect run
  • 999% / 1,000% = 1 run (with buffer)
  • One to two perfect runs = 999% YUNYUN

Character songs are longer than the conspiracy trend chart but have higher note density, which means more YUNYUN gain per run. The trade-off is difficulty — character songs have more complex patterns than the conspiracy chart.

Step 3: Avoid Stat Cross-Contamination

Here is the trap: if you are farming YUNYUN and accidentally select a conspiracy heart card, you boost HYPE instead. On a cleanup playthrough this does not matter much. But if you are trying to farm one stat at a time, cross-contamination wastes runs.

Rule: Decide which stat you are farming before entering the chart. Commit to the correct card type for the entire session. Do not mix golden yunyun cards and conspiracy heart cards in the same farming run.

YUNYUN Farming Summary

DOKIDOKI Recap: The Fastest Path (Brief)

The DOKIDOKI 999% fastest route covers this in full detail. The short version:

  • Chart: Prologue “YUNYUN DENPA OTW!” (~100 notes, ~2 minutes)
  • Difficulty: NORMAL
  • Runs needed: 2 perfect clears
  • Total time: ~4 minutes
  • Key setting: Auto-sync ON, judgment +/-20ms

DOKIDOKI is the simplest to farm because it does not depend on card selection. Every perfect hit on every chart feeds DOKIDOKI at the same rate regardless of which trend is active. If you can Full Combo the prologue chart on NORMAL, two runs is all you need.

Important Notes

999% triggers a bad ending. Each stat at 999% fires a unique bad ending (TOO KAWAII! for DOKIDOKI, It’s pure chaos. for HYPE, Everything will be yunified. for YUNYUN). These are achievement-worthy but permanently block the true ending on that save. Only farm to 999% on a dedicated cleanup playthrough.

50% thresholds gate IF endings. You do not need 999% for most content. Several IF endings and achievements trigger at 50% HYPE or 50% YUNYUN. If you are not specifically farming the 999% bad endings, stop at 50% and trigger the endings you need.

Stats persist across chart clears within a save. DOKIDOKI, HYPE, and YUNYUN accumulate across every chart you play on a given save file. There is no way to decrease them except through Miss penalties. Plan your farming order: DOKIDOKI first (fastest), then HYPE, then YUNYUN.

Follower count is separate. The follower cap (9,999,999,999) triggers the “Brb, ascending!” ending. This is not a percentage stat — it tracks total followers gained through conspiracy posting. It requires its own farming route separate from the three percentage metrics.

I pushed HYPE to 999% on my first cleanup run without realizing the bad ending would trigger immediately. The game does not warn you. One moment I was selecting trend cards, the next I was watching the “It’s pure chaos.” ending cutscene. Fortunately the achievement unlocked, but it burned that save file for true ending content. Save before you hit 999%.

Stat Farming and the 50% Threshold

Most players only need to reach 50% on each stat, not 999%. The 50% threshold unlocks specific IF endings and achievement conditions:

Stat at 50%What It Unlocks
HYPE 50%“Conspiracy Control Geass” — trigger selected trend with full force
YUNYUN 50%“Yunyun Possession” — yunyun soul integration ending
DOKIDOKI 50%No specific ending, but contributes to Qtie’s emotional state

If you are following the multi-playthrough route from the achievements guide, you only need 50% HYPE and 50% YUNYUN during your conspiracy farming playthrough. The 999% push is reserved for the dedicated stat threshold cleanup run.

Efficient 50% Farming

Reaching 50% on any stat takes roughly half the runs needed for 999%:

StatRuns to 50% (NORMAL, perfect hits)Time
DOKIDOKI~1 run of prologue chart~2 min
HYPE~1 run of conspiracy trend chart~3 min
YUNYUN~1 run of character song~3-4 min

You will naturally hit 50% on all three stats during regular gameplay. The farming route only matters when you need to push past 50% toward 999% for the bad ending achievements.

Final Take

HYPE and YUNYUN are not mysterious — they use the same rhythm performance system as DOKIDOKI with the added layer of card selection. The farming route is:

  1. DOKIDOKI first. Shortest chart, NORMAL, two perfect runs. 4 minutes.
  2. HYPE second. Conspiracy trend chart, pick heart cards, 2-3 perfect runs. 8-12 minutes.
  3. YUNYUN third. Character songs, pick golden yunyun cards, 1-2 perfect runs. 5-8 minutes.

Total farming time across all three stats: approximately 17-24 minutes of perfect play. Add practice time if your Full Combo rate is below 80% on NORMAL.

The card selection phase is what separates HYPE/YUNYUN farming from DOKIDOKI farming. Read the card icons. Golden yunyun face = YUNYUN. Heart symbol = HYPE. Generic card = small boost to everything. Picking the wrong card type wastes roughly 30% of potential gain for that selection.

If you are still working toward the true ending, stop at 50% on each stat. The 999% push is a cleanup activity for after DONIDEMONARE.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do HYPE and YUNYUN stats do in Yunyun Syndrome?

HYPE controls which conspiracy trends you can trigger -- certain IF endings require 50%+ HYPE to activate. YUNYUN tracks soul integration level and gates the Yunyun Possession ending at 50%+. Pushing either to 999% triggers a bad ending on that save file.

Can I farm HYPE and YUNYUN on the same save as the true ending?

No. Pushing any stat to 999% permanently locks you out of the true ending on that save. Farm HYPE and YUNYUN on a dedicated cleanup playthrough after completing DONIDEMONARE.

How many runs does it take to reach 999% HYPE or YUNYUN?

Approximately 2-3 runs on NORMAL difficulty with perfect hits on the shortest charts. HYPE farms fastest on conspiracy trend charts, while YUNYUN farms on character song charts. Each metric takes about 4-6 minutes with consistent perfect play.
