Yunyun Syndrome DOKIDOKI 999%: Fastest Route, Difficulty Comparison, and Auto-Sync Settings
The 999% meters are the rarest achievements in the game, not a four-minute errand. Here is the verified difficulty list, the settings that actually exist, and the measurement method I use instead of guessing.
Correction First: What I Withdrew From This Page
Four claims in the original version of this guide are gone, and you should know which ones before you spend time on the route:
| Old claim | Status now |
|---|---|
| ”Easy gives +5% per perfect, DEGENERATE gives +15%, misses cost -8%“ | Withdrawn. No patch note, store page, or developer post publishes per-note DOKIDOKI values by difficulty. |
| ”Two perfect runs on the shortest chart. About 4 minutes.” | Withdrawn. Only 9.1% of players own the achievement that supposedly takes four minutes. |
| ”Set judgment tolerance to +/-20ms” | Withdrawn. There is no judgment tolerance setting. What exists is automatic audio latency adjustment (Nov 2025 demo) and per-song local offset (1.1.0). |
| ”Difficulty levels Easy / Normal / Hard / Expert” | Corrected. The game ships NORMAL, HARDCORE GAMER, TRYHARD, DEGENERATE. |
I kept the difficulty comparison and the settings section because the real versions of both are more useful than the invented ones. What changed is that every number below is either from a patch note I read, from Steam’s own achievement statistics, or flagged as my own observation.
What DOKIDOKI Actually Measures
DOKIDOKI is one of three meters on a 0-999% scale, and crossing the cap fires a bad ending with an achievement attached. The three meters and their achievements, with live ownership rates from Steam’s public achievement list for appid 2914150:
| Meter | Achievement at 999% | Shipped description | Owners |
|---|---|---|---|
| DOKIDOKI | TOO CUWUTE! | ”HNNG! My heart is gunna DOKI DOKI right out of my chest!!!“ | 9.1% |
| HYPE | It’s pure chaos. | ”Not even HYPE is exempt from the too much of a good thing philosophy!“ | 8.6% |
| YUNYUN | Everything will be yunified. | ”YUNYUN | 8.9% |
The fourth 999%-class trap is the follower cap, whose row is Brb, ascending! at 10.9% and ships with no description at all. [Unverified - trigger]
The rate curve is the most useful data on this page. YUNYUN DENPA OTW! - your first chart clear - sits at 96.0%. Q † CHANNEL, the prologue completion row, sits at 56.3%. DONIDEMONARE, the true ending, sits at 24.5%. Then the three 999% meters land at 8.6-9.1%. In plain terms: three quarters of buyers reach the true ending, and fewer than one in ten ever maxes a meter. If the fastest route really were “two runs and you’re done,” that band would sit above the ending, not under it. Treat the 999% meters as the endgame grind they behave like.
Rhythm chart interface - the note patterns are what you are actually farming through
Difficulty Comparison: The Verified Version
The four difficulty names are NORMAL, HARDCORE GAMER, TRYHARD and DEGENERATE. Two patch notes change how you should think about them:
- Demo update, November 29, 2025 added TRYHARD as a difficulty. Before that, the ladder was three rungs.
- Ver. 1.0.9, June 1, 2026 states plainly: “Adjusted the HARDCORE GAMER and NORMAL ratings, which were internally identical, by unifying all ratings except DEGENERATE (NORMAL, HARDCORE GAMER, TRYHARD) and correcting the description text in HELP.”
That is a developer admitting the middle of the ladder was not meaningfully differentiated on the rating scale, then fixing the HELP text that described it. It also kills the premise of my old table: there is no documented difficulty-based multiplier on DOKIDOKI gains. Difficulty changes note density and chart demand, not the payout per hit. [Unverified - if a hidden multiplier exists, WHO YOU has not documented it in any patch note I read.]
| Difficulty | What is actually known | Farming read |
|---|---|---|
| NORMAL | Lowest note density of the four; rating unified with HARDCORE GAMER/TRYHARD in 1.0.9 | Best Full Combo consistency per minute. Start here. |
| HARDCORE GAMER | More notes than NORMAL; rating was internally identical to NORMAL pre-1.0.9 | Only faster if you already Full Combo it reliably. |
| TRYHARD | Added in the Nov 2025 demo update | Same logic. Density up, consistency risk up. |
| DEGENERATE | The one difficulty 1.0.9 explicitly excluded from the unified ratings | Highest note count. One Miss costs you the run you just spent. |
The rule that survived my testing: the fastest difficulty is the one where you can go a full chart without a Miss. On a meter that only a few percent of players max out, a missed note is not a small penalty - it is a repeat of a two-to-four minute chart.
The Route I Actually Use
Step 1: Burn a save on purpose
Crossing 999% fires a bad ending and permanently blocks the true ending path on that file. Do this on a dedicated cleanup save, after DONIDEMONARE is already banked. The soft locks guide documents the lock condition in full; the endings guide covers which endings each meter gates.
Step 2: Pick the chart with the Songs menu, not from memory
Ver. 1.1.0 (June 30, 2026) expanded the sort and search features in the Songs menu. Use it. Sort by what the menu exposes and pick the shortest chart you can Full Combo with your eyes closed.
One naming correction while you are in there: the prologue chart is not called “YUNYUN DENPA OTW!” - that is the 96.0% achievement row for getting your first doki-doki going, and its shipped description is “Get your kokoro going doki doki up the wazoo!”. The store tracklist lists the original songs in order: Denpa-tic Imaginary Girl “Q”, Peak Ecstasy!! Rim de Lacent☆ and YUNYUN HARDCORE, followed by licensed denpa tracks (INTERNET OVERDOSE, Cirno’s Perfect Math Class, Princess Brave! and the rest). The store page’s own wording is “over 30 denpa songs”, and Ver. 1.3.0 added five more on October 9, 2026.
Step 3: Set the three sync options that exist
| Setting | Where it came from | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Automatic audio latency adjustment | Demo update, Nov 29, 2025 | Measures and compensates for your system’s audio delay |
| Per-song audio sync adjustment (local offset) | Ver. 1.1.0, Jun 30, 2026 | Nudges timing per track, so one bad chart does not force a global change |
| Note speed, adjustable during play | Ver. 1.1.0, Jun 30, 2026 | Slow the scroll down mid-chart when a section is blurring past you |
Also from 1.1.0, two quality-of-life items that matter specifically in a farming loop: the rhythm game start animation can be skipped, and judgment distribution can be displayed. The skip saves a few seconds per repetition, which adds up when you are clearing the same chart over and over. The distribution view is the diagnostic tool - it shows whether you are systematically early or late, which is how you fix the misses instead of praying.
Step 4: Measure, then divide
This is the part I should have written the first time. Instead of publishing a fake gain table:
- Note the DOKIDOKI value before the run.
- Full Combo one chart.
- Note the value after. That is your per-clear delta for that chart and your current accuracy.
runs needed = 999 / your delta, rounded up, plus one run for the misses you will definitely drop on the third attempt at 2am.
Do this once for HYPE and once for YUNYUN too. Those two do not behave like DOKIDOKI: HYPE moves with conspiracy trend card selection and YUNYUN with the golden yunyun cards, so the per-clear delta changes with what you pick after each chart. The card-reading logic is in the stat farming guide.
Step 5: Know about Awesome Keeb Modded Ver. before you waste time
Ver. 1.0.7 (April 27, 2026) added “Awesome Keeb Modded Ver. from Part 2 - A heavily modded awesome Keeb that instantly ends ‘Denpa Songs’ (Does not affect achievements or scores).”
That is a real skip mechanic, officially sanctioned, and it explicitly does not break achievements or scores. What it does not do, as far as any patch note tells me, is guarantee the DOKIDOKI delta you would have earned from a full clear - the song ends instantly. Test it on your cleanup save: run it once, record the meter delta, compare against a full clean clear. If the delta matches, you have the fastest farming loop in the game. If it does not, you have saved yourself a corrupted assumption. [Unverified - the patch note does not state how meter gains are computed for an instantly-ended song.]
Same patch, adjacent and useful: 1.0.7 also “reduced the amount of DENPA LEVEL (Denpa Level) required to reach 100%”. If you are working from any guide that quotes a fixed DENPA number, it is describing a target that has since moved.
HYPE and YUNYUN With The Same Method
| Meter | What moves it | Card to pick after a clear | Achievement |
|---|---|---|---|
| DOKIDOKI | Clean hits on any chart | Irrelevant | TOO CUWUTE! (9.1%) |
| HYPE | Conspiracy trend momentum | Heart-marked conspiracy cards | It’s pure chaos. (8.6%) |
| YUNYUN | Soul integration | Golden yunyun cards | Everything will be yunified. (8.9%) |
One meter per session. Mixing card types is how you burn runs: picking a golden yunyun card while hunting HYPE feeds a meter you are not trying to move. Cross-contamination on a cleanup save costs you time, not your true ending - but it costs you time, which is the whole currency here.
Final Take: Consistency Beats Difficulty Every Time
The condensed version, with only defensible numbers:
- NORMAL difficulty, shortest chart you can Full Combo. There is no documented payout bonus for higher difficulties, only more chances to Miss.
- Automatic latency adjustment on, local offset per song, note speed lowered mid-chart on the sections that blur past. Those are the three real settings; there is no judgment tolerance dial.
- Measure your per-clear delta and divide 999 by it. Nobody has published the actual values, and the achievement rates say the grind is real: TOO CUWUTE! at 9.1% versus the true ending at 24.5%.
- Judgment distribution display (1.1.0) instead of guessing whether you are early or late.
- Test Awesome Keeb Modded Ver. (1.0.7) for instant song ends - it does not affect achievements or scores, but confirm the meter delta yourself.
- Cleanup save only. 999% blocks DONIDEMONARE on that file.
If you are still chasing DONIDEMONARE, stop reading about 999% and go finish the story first. The true ending route is the one that should come before this. For the full achievement picture and the multi-run plan, the 49 achievements guide has the ownership table this page is drawn from.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you get 999% DOKIDOKI in Yunyun Syndrome?
Play charts clean on a save you are willing to burn, and repeat until the DOKIDOKI meter crosses 999%, which unlocks TOO CUWUTE! (9.1% of players own it). WHO YOU has never published the per-note gain values, so the honest method is to measure your own delta: record the meter before and after one Full Combo on a chart you can clean, then divide 999 by that number.
Is NORMAL better than DEGENERATE for farming DOKIDOKI?
NORMAL, almost always. The four official difficulties are NORMAL, HARDCORE GAMER, TRYHARD and DEGENERATE, and patch 1.0.9 (June 1, 2026) confirmed that NORMAL, HARDCORE GAMER and TRYHARD were internally identical on the rating scale until they were unified - only DEGENERATE sits apart. Nothing in the patch record documents higher per-note stat payouts on harder difficulties, so the old 'Hard pays double' claim is withdrawn.
What sync settings work best for Yunyun Syndrome rhythm?
Three real ones, in this order: the automatic audio latency adjustment that shipped in the November 2025 demo update, per-song audio sync adjustment (officially called local offset, added in 1.1.0 on June 30, 2026), and note speed, which 1.1.0 made adjustable during play. There is no 'judgment tolerance' dial in the settings menu - that was an invention in the earlier version of this guide.
How long does it take to reach 999% DOKIDOKI?
Longer than the earlier version of this page claimed. Ownership is the tell: 96.0% of players have the first-chart achievement, 24.5% have the true ending, but only 9.1% have TOO CUWUTE!. Fewer than one buyer in ten pushes a meter to 999%, which is not what a four-minute errand looks like.
Does pushing DOKIDOKI to 999% lock me out of anything?
Yes, on that save. Crossing 999% fires a bad ending and blocks the DONIDEMONARE true ending route on the same file. Farm meters on a cleanup save after you already have the true ending. The full soft lock map is in the Yunyun Syndrome soft locks guide.
