Preparation Before You Hunt
Mr. Raccoon figurines are tiny. Capcom made them even harder to spot this time around by tucking several behind breakable walls and elevated sightlines. Before you start tearing through rooms, get these basics sorted:
- Enable the collectible hint system. Settings → Gameplay → Collectible Hints → On. This adds a faint shimmer when you are within 3 meters of a figurine.
- Bring a scoped weapon. At least two figurines require shooting from a distance — a handgun scope works, but a rifle makes it trivial.
- Carry a melee tool. The chainsaw and axe both appear at different story beats. If you are doing a post-game cleanup run, you will respawn with whatever loadout the chapter gives you.
- Keep a mental (or physical) checklist. The game tracks per-chapter progress in the extras menu, but it does not tell you where you missed one.
I burned nearly an hour on my first pass because I skipped a breakable wall in the care center basement. Save yourself that pain — check every destructible surface.
This ties directly into the platinum guide if you are chasing full completion.
Wrenwood Area — 0 Figurines
The Wrenwood introductory section has no Mr. Raccoon placements. Use this stretch to warm up, grab files, and get comfortable with Grace’s first-person horror mechanics. Every figurine hunt starts after you reach Rhodes Hill.
Rhodes Hill Care Center — Leon Part 1
#1 — Chainsaw Room
After you pick up the chainsaw during Leon’s first sweep through the care center, you will use it to cut through a boarded-up door on the second floor. The Mr. Raccoon sits on a medical tray immediately to your left once the door opens.
Easy to miss because most players sprint through the newly opened path and do not glance left.
Rhodes Hill Care Center — Grace Part 1
Grace’s first-person segments contain the densest cluster of figurines in the entire game. Five total across this chapter block.
#2 — Front Lobby Desk
Right when Grace enters the main lobby, the figurine sits on the reception desk next to the sign-in binder. You almost cannot miss it unless you are speedrunning.
#3 — East Hallway Past Waiting Area
Head east from the patient waiting room. About halfway down the corridor, the figurine sits on a windowsill. The hallway has limited lighting — the shimmer hint helps here.
#4 — Staff Breakroom Wash Basin
The breakroom is on the ground floor, west wing. The figurine is perched on the edge of the washing basin in the corner. Players often check the fridge and lockers but ignore the sink area.
#5 — Medical Storage Room Cot
Behind a locked door (key found in the nurse’s station drawer), this storage room has a single cot against the far wall. The figurine is tucked behind the cot’s headboard — you need to walk around to spot it.
#6 — Second Floor Patient Room Shelf
In the room where you find the crank handle for the elevator override, check the top shelf of the medicine cabinet. Requires looking up — the figurine is nearly invisible from floor level.
Rhodes Hill Care Center — Leon Part 2
#7 — Wooden Cabinet (Axe Required)
Leon’s second pass through the care center gives you an axe. Use it on the cracked wooden cabinet in the rehabilitation room on the first floor. The figurine is inside among the broken planks.
If you miss this one during the story chapter, you will need to come back with the axe in a post-game run.
Rhodes Hill Underground — Grace
#8 — Crafting Table
The underground lab section starts with a long corridor leading to a makeshift crafting area. The figurine sits on the central workbench between a mortar and a stack of petri dishes.
#9 — Dormitory Television
Past the crafting room, you enter a dormitory with bunk beds and an old CRT television. The figurine is balanced on top of the TV set. You need to crouch and look up to see it.
Rhodes Hill Exterior — Mixed
#10 — Private Lab Table (Grace)
On the exterior grounds, Grace’s path leads through a fenced-off private laboratory. The figurine is on the main examination table next to a microscope. Straightforward.
#11 — Bush Below the Roof (Leon, Scoped Rifle)
Leon reaches an elevated rooftop position overlooking overgrown grounds. The figurine is hidden in dense foliage below. You need to aim down a scoped rifle and shoot it — same mechanic as the RE2 Remake Mr. Raccoons, except this one is partially obscured by a tree canopy.
Practical tip: I found it helps to zoom to 4x and scan the bushes left-to-right. The figurine is roughly at the 7 o’clock position from the rooftop vantage point.
Eastern Raccoon City — Leon
Leon’s Raccoon City return is the longest stretch and packs nine figurines. This is where most players drop the ball.
#12 — Coffee Shop Counter
The first storefront you can enter on Main Street has a coffee shop. The figurine is behind the counter on the espresso machine shelf. You need to walk behind the bar to grab it.
#13 — Highway Vehicle Wreck (Scoped Rifle)
A pileup on the highway overpass blocks your path. One of the wrecked cars has a figurine on its roof — too far to reach on foot. Use a scoped weapon from the overpass edge to shoot it.
#14 — Underground Parking Garage
Descend into the parking garage via the ramp near the gas station. The figurine sits on the hood of a car on the B2 level, directly under a flickering fluorescent light.
#15 — Passenger Transit Bus
A city bus is overturned near the subway entrance. Climb inside through the broken rear window. The figurine is on a passenger seat near the front, wedged between two bags.
#16 — Apartment Icebox
Inside the apartment building with the broken elevator, take the stairs to the third floor. Unit 3B has an open door. The figurine is inside the refrigerator (icebox) in the kitchen.
#17 — Gas Station Shelf
Back at street level, the gas station near the parking garage entrance has a small convenience store. The figurine is on the shelf behind the register, next to a row of motor oil bottles.
#18 — Drainage Pipe
Follow the creek bed south from the gas station. A concrete drainage pipe juts out from a hillside. The figurine is just inside the pipe entrance, partially submerged in shallow water.
#19 — Commuter Train Seat
The train station becomes accessible after solving the signal box puzzle. Board the stationary commuter train on Track 2. The figurine sits on a seat in the third car, directly across from a newspaper prop.
#20 — Alley Dumpster (Retrace Required)
This one requires backtracking. After boarding the train, exit the station and retrace your steps to the alley behind the coffee shop. A dumpster that was previously locked is now open. The figurine is inside among trash bags.
Water Treatment / Final Areas
The water treatment facility and surrounding zones contain the last five figurines.
#21 — Filtration Control Room Desk
On the main control panel desk, directly in front of the monitoring screens. Hard to miss once you enter the room.
#22 — Chemical Storage Shelf
The chemical storage room has three rows of shelving. The figurine is on the middle row, third shelf from the left, behind a cluster of reagent bottles.
#23 — Pump Station Catwalk
An elevated metal catwalk overlooks the pump machinery. The figurine is on a railing post about halfway along the walk. Lean over the rail to see it.
#24 — Sewer Junction Crate
Deep in the sewer tunnels, a wooden crate sits at a three-way junction. Shoot or melee the crate to break it. The figurine is inside.
#25 — Final Corridor Display Case
The last figurine is in the corridor leading to the chapter’s boss encounter. It sits inside a glass display case mounted on the wall. Shoot the glass to shatter it and collect the figurine.
Important Notes
- Missable figurines: #7 (axe cabinet), #11 (scoped rifle bush), #13 (highway wreck), and #20 (alley dumpster) can be permanently missed if you do not interact during their respective chapter windows. Post-game free roam resolves this.
- Dual protagonist overlap: Both Grace and Leon pass through the care center, but their figurine placements never overlap. You need both playthroughs to hit 25.
- Insanity difficulty: Placement is identical. The only change is enemy aggression — plan your routes accordingly.
- Speedrun relevance: If you are going for a speedrun, Mr. Raccoons are not required. But if you want the bronze trophy and bonus charms, plan a separate collection run.
For puzzle help during your collection runs, check the all puzzle solutions guide. And if you are also hunting documents, the all file locations guide covers every file and lore item.
Rewards
Collecting all 25 Mr. Raccoon figurines unlocks:
- Bronze Trophy: “Little Raccoons, Big Adventure”
- Weapon Charm: Raccoon Tail charm (cosmetic, equipable on any weapon)
- Extra inventory slot: +2 attache case space in New Game Plus runs
The charm is purely cosmetic but it is a nice flex, especially paired with the right weapon setup from the weapon charm combos speedrun breakdown.
Final Take
Mr. Raccoon hunting in RE9 Requiem is a love letter to RE2 Remake collectors. The placement is generally fair, but a few spots — the drainage pipe, the alley dumpster, the highway wreck — demand you actually slow down and scan your environment. My recommendation: do a dedicated collection run after your first playthrough. You will know the map layout, enemy spawns are manageable on Standard, and you can focus purely on exploration without the pressure of ammo scarcity.
If you are going for full completion, the platinum guide maps out every trophy requirement alongside these figurines.
