How to Get the Growbed
Scanning Growbed fragments at the Alien Ruins Research Outpost
The Growbed blueprint requires scanning two fragments, both found at the Alien Ruins Research Outpost, located 1,275m east of the Lifepod. Both fragments are right next to each other, so a single visit is all you need.

Best Plants to Grow
Harvesting Acid Raion for batteries and first aid
| Plant | Why It’s Worth Growing |
|---|---|
| Acid Raion | Produces Acidic Raion Pouches and Medical Gel Sacs for Batteries and First Aid Kits |
| Cradle Shootroot | Grows Lucifer Rotsacs for Rubber and Grease. Cut for Fibrous Pulp for Fiber or Biofuel Blocks |
| Macaron Sponge | Good option for harvesting large amounts of Fibrous Pulp |
Tip: Avoid planting the Mimic Pylon — it’s purely cosmetic, cannot be harvested, and will shock you.
All Growable Plants
Multiple Growbeds with different plants
| Plant | Required to Plant |
|---|---|
| Necrolei Cyst | Necrolei Cyst x1 |
| Cherimoya Rotsac | Cherimoya Rotsac x1 |
| Pent | Pent x1 |
| Macaron Sponge | Fibrous Pulp x3 |
| Mimic Pylon | Fibrous Pulp x5, Copper x4 |
| Freesia Flower | Fibrous Pulp x3 |
| Acid Raion | Medical Gel Sac x1 |

The Bottom Line: This is the kind of mechanic that seems obvious after you know it, but the game sure as hell won’t tell you upfront. I learned most of this the hard way — by drowning, starving, or getting eaten. The systems in Subnautica 2 are deep but fair. Once you understand how they work, survival stops being a struggle and starts being a strategy. And that’s when the real fun begins.
