Use the items database to compare resources, consumables, equipment, weapons, ship parts, and miscellaneous materials before you craft or sail.
If your inventory is getting crowded, this page helps you slow down and work out what each Windrose item is actually for. You can check resources, food, tools, weapons, ship parts, and upgrade materials in one place before spending time or supplies on the wrong craft.
Use the filters when you only care about one kind of item, then hover a card for the extra details. It is meant to feel like a practical checklist for your next trip, base upgrade, or ship fitting session rather than a wall of raw game data.

Bloody weather. It’s got me well and truly stuck, but that’s no matter. The chest is buried, and that’s what counts. Those filthy bums want to split the loot equally! They can go to hell! Now they will guard my gold forever. Once the rain lets up, I’ll make it to Tortuga and hire a new crew. Or buy myself some land—house and servants included. I should also thank the apothecary. He recommended a fine remedy. Very effective. The gold can stay put for now—gives me time to come up with a suitably tear-soaked tale for the Brethren of the Coast. Spaniards attacked us. Or the English. Makes no difference. If only this wind would die down. It howls and bends the palms so fiercely that I start seeing… things. If I hadn’t killed my own men, I might think they were still here. Watching me. Alive.

We are the Children of the New Ark. We are the planks in its sides, the sails on its masts, the nails in its ribs. We are scattered souls gathered into one by Divine will. Sinners will rot in the womb of the tainted earth, while the New Ark will sail upon blessed waves. The Head is our steadfast helmsman. As the sea obeys the wind, so we heed His Word. Whoever listens shall be lifted up; whoever disobeys shall be cursed and know torments beyond number—forever suspended between earth and sky, never finding the true course. We renounce the burden of the worldly: only the pure of heart and humble of soul will reach the promised harbor. We believe the End of Days is at hand. Soon the Abyss of Hell will yawn open and swallow this world steeped in sin. We are the chosen, and therefore we shall be saved. We are the Children of the New Ark.

Terrible things are happening in the bay. A week ago a ship dropped anchor off the shore—looked ordinary, but it flew no flag. Strange writing covered its sails, and at sunset Satan’s servants came ashore to call their master. I saw them with my own eyes. They tied two captives to crosses and carved devil’s signs into their bodies. Curse this wind! If it weren’t for it, I’d have gathered my nets and run for Tortuga days ago. Holy Mary, protect me—I’ll quit the bottle, I’ll go back to Ursula. Only let them not see my hut…

First day after the shipwreck Cold. We’ve been ashore all day, and the rain hasn’t stopped. Bram says we should head into the jungle and take shelter in the ruins. I don’t want to go. I keep telling them the ruins are cursed, but Mitchell laughs it off—and Bram doesn’t believe me either.
Eighth day after the shipwreck I warned them the ruins are cursed. No sooner did we settle in than the nightmares began. I dream my friends are dying. Their skin hardens into bark. Branches push out through their flesh. I wake up screaming. I’m afraid. I don’t want to sleep anymore. I carved protective charms for Bram and Mitchell. They laughed. Threw them into the mud. Last night I heard them whispering about the boat. They’re thinking of leaving me behind.
One hundred and fifth day after the shipwreck No, the 105th day was two weeks ago. Or was it three weeks? Cannot remember. I am lost. Bram and Mitchell left me after all. Abandoned. Sailed away. Yes, they left. Sailed awa-a-ay. I stayed here. Together with their belongings. Over there. I buried it. I hid it until they come back. They will come back for me, right? They will. They surely will. I left the ruins. It is even scarier out there. Far worse than before. Now I can hear their voices even in daylight. Like they are wafting form the grave. Thudding. They are coming. I can feel it. Where is my amulet? I need amulets. More amulets. They will protect.

The sickness has not touched any of us yet, but I feel it—in the water, in the earth, in the whisper of grass beneath my feet. One day it will reach us. Our people in the mountain city live as though nothing ever happened. They raise temples to the Lord of Death and listen to the silence. They wish to forget. That is why we must remember.

…I’ll pray that no one disturbs your rest, my friend. I admit, I was fond of your ugly mug—but I have no desire to see it again. Moving on without you will be hard. Especially if the dead don’t stop hounding us. We’ll press on with the expedition. If Columbus is right and the local priestess can help against Jones, I’ll find her even if I have to dig her out of hell. Your death will not be in vain.
…The dead are attacking more often now, as if Jones senses we’ve found a weapon against his army. Forgive me for not covering your back, Guillermo. Without you, we would never have reached the priestess. She gave us medallions, but warned that they work only once. Do you think that will be enough to stop the dead? We’re heading back to the ship. Tomorrow we sail to rendezvous with Columbus near the Turtle Island. Still, I can’t shake the feeling that something is about to go wrong…
Jaime… Jaime… I pulled you out of a pit of debt and made you my first mate. And you repaid me by conspiring with the enemy—betraying the Order, betraying the faith. Whatever Jones promised you, it was a lie. Your “eternal life” didn’t last long. Today I laid you in the grave. Tomorrow I’ll send Jones to Hell. It’s been waiting for him.

... Woke up in cold sweat again. I think what Hands is looking for isn’t slaves, but fresh meat for the altar. So be it. I’m paid to do a job, not to ask questions. We’ll take some prisoners, haul them to the camp near the ruins, then set sail again. Then — repeat, if needed. I should stock up on rum. Can’t fall asleep without a drink.

Late March, 17XX The pirates finally caught up with us. They must have taken me for dead—though I’ll soon be for certain. Blood is pouring from my belly without end. Henry, you treacherous cabrón! Whom have you pissed off this time? Some madman is chasing my people all over the Caribbean. Half of our caches have been destroyed, and suppliers are refusing to deal with us. We’ve lost dozens of shipments, and we’ll lose plenty more if you don’t resolve this. We can barely hide from Blackbeard’s cutthroats, and now this new mess on top of it. We're going to lay low for a while. I’d advise you do the same, since the bounty for your cunning ass has not been lifted. Sort this shit out, and maybe we can finally share a drink at the tavern again. Marita

Early March, 17XX The expedition began well enough: we established ourselves on the island and took over three ruins. We’ll sleep in the first, turn the second into a storehouse, and fortify the third properly in case of trouble. For reasons beyond me, my idiots even hauled a gate all the way up to the second floor. Louie spotted three ships belonging to Blackbeard’s pirates. I ordered my men to stay away from the shoreline and hunt deeper in the jungle. Louie flew into a rage. He wants to lure the pirates into a trap and gun them down. A fool! There are as many of them as rats in a cellar, and we’re short on powder. I promised I’d skin him myself and stretch his hide over a boar if he keeps stirring the others up.

Dearest Letty, I swear to you, I’ll be back soon. None of the Children of the Ark will ever reach us. I managed to slip away unnoticed and get in touch with one of the Governor’s men. He promised to help us if I tell him everything about the cult’s leader and his dark dealings. We’ll even have money, Letty! Wait for me on Tortuga, my dear. We’ll go to Boston and start a new life. We’ll open a shop and forget this nightmare ever happened. Now then—the captain is calling for me. He wants me to hide in my cabin, because some ship has appeared on the horizon. It must be the Governor’s people. Just a little longer, Letty. I love you. Yours, Michael Hardy

A few days back, Richards’s men showed up demanding the artifact. The captain flew into a rage, drew his saber, and cut down three on the spot—then shot another. We dropped three more ourselves. The survivors were hanged by Hands personally. They shouldn’t have come. Fools to the bone—just like their captain.
The captain’s gone jumpy. Even after the wound he never did rein in his temper, but ever since he took that artifact off Richards… his head’s sprung a leak. He’s always muttering under his breath in some unknown tongue, eyes wild… Even those closest to him are starting to keep their distance. Still, I’ll take him over Teach. Teach’ll shoot you first, then haul you back up as an undead. Better to die proper…
Hands sent the Unsinkable out with his trusted men to bring back more prisoners. The old ones are already gone—Hands keeps dragging them off, one by one, to God knows where. I don’t know who they’ll hit. Merchant ships rarely come to the archipelago now, and Tortuga lies in ruins… Good luck to the lads. If they don’t bring back fresh meat, I’m afraid we’ll be the ones dragged off next.

Mid-March, 17XX Curse these pirates! They’ve landed and are now combing the entire island. We have barricaded ourselves inside the fortified ruin, with sentries posted at the other two. A few days ago, Louie disobeyed orders and led some of the lads off. Of course, they walked straight into an ambush. We had to pull them out—but only two made it back. If my musket hadn’t misfired, Louie would still be alive. The pirates are closing in. We’ll have to abandon the loot and withdraw. The most valuable items will go into a cache.

Twelve times twelve winters have passed since the Day of Great Sorrow. And still I walk the earth. The mountain city grows emptier. My people flee the past as a jaguar flees a torch. Last moon, disturbed by the curse, Yuknom rose from his tomb. We barely managed to lay him to rest again. Where he fell, the soil was blighted. Two of my guardians smeared their spears with his blood: one grew stronger; the other succumbed to the taint. We are afraid, but not without hope. The curse itself may yet be the answer to our prayers.

Warlord Chik-Chan came, clothed in authority, and demanded a vision of his fate. I questioned the stars. And the stars answered: Chik-Chan would bring great calamity upon our people. The warlord did not accept the prophecy. In his fury, he ordered my records destroyed and sealed me here forever, without food or water. The stars are without mercy. They see. They will punish my killer.
Warlord Chik-Chan abducted the daughter of the northern chieftain and came to me for the star charts, wishing to take her as his wife according to our rites. I questioned the stars. And the stars answered: they were not meant to be together, for the chieftain’s daughter resisted this union. Burning with rage, Chik-Chan destroyed the star charts. He refused to heed the will of the heavens. They tore out my tongue and sealed me here. And now not a day passes that I do not pray for vengeance. The stars are without mercy. They see. They will punish my killer.
The northern people declared war upon us, and Warlord Chik-Chan came to me seeking a prophecy. But the stars were silent. In helpless fury, Chik-Chan shattered the sanctuary above and defiled the observatory, sealing me within. Death draws near. I know this place will become my grave. My strength is nearly spent; thirst clouds my sight. Yet the stars see all. They whisper to me of vengeance. Chik-Chan will soon perish. A warband of the northern people will come for the chieftain’s daughter and kill him, casting his body into the swamps near my grave. There it will change—swelling and twisting, entwining with the earth and with roots born of corruption. The stars whisper to me of the calamity Chik-Chan has brought upon my people. But here, there is no one left who can hear me.

In the days when the gods still walked the earth, the priest of Itzeltek, The Lord of the Dead, had a beloved daughter. He gave her everything she desired, forbidding only one thing: to go near the sacred beasts. For they, like their god, were fierce of temper and did not welcome the living where the dead hold sway. But the girl was gnawed by curiosity. One night she slipped away to the altar and lingered through the dark hours, until the sky began to pale. When she returned home, a burning fever seized her at once. The priest could not save her… Long he mourned, until at last he chose to walk the road that leads into the realm of the dead, in search of his child. Before him stood the Guardian of the Last Gate—a vast crocodile, barring the way. The priest brought it low in fury, and stepped onto the road of the dead…
But long had the priest walked in faithful service, and the god’s heart was stirred. He loosed them from his halls and parted the way that leads back to the light. The father rose in joy, the daughter following in his shadow. Then, all at once, the sound of splintering bone rang out behind him. He turned—and saw his daughter’s form break and swell, flesh twisting into the shape of a great crocodile. Horror bound him fast, and the vast jaws closed over him as one. Thus a new guardian was set at the Last Gate, and the laughter of Itzeltek lingered long among the marshes.
For a long time the priest wandered the roads of the dead, searching for his daughter. At last he saw her beneath the shade of a cotton tree—but she did not recognize her father. To restore the girl’s memory, the priest dove into a deep black pool, seeking the fish that dwelt only in the bogs of Itzeltek. He roasted the catch over a cold fire and fed his daughter the pale flesh. And at once, her memory returned to her. Rejoicing, the priest took the girl by the hand and led her toward the throne of Itzeltek, to beg his god for mercy…
Countless winters have passed since the Day of Great Sorrow. I stopped counting. Almost no one remains. Each act of resistance grows harder than the last. The mountain city stands empty. My people were wrong—and have already paid for it with oblivion. One final recourse remains: a relic from distant lands. With it, I will either restore my god… or perish. At the full moon, I will perform the ritual before the sacred beasts of the Lord of Death, upon the altar. I will draw my own blood with an obsidian blade and pray.
Bloody hell. The moment I held the artifact, Hands appeared. May vultures pick his bones. He came on a friendly visit—brought a few bottles of fine wine and fresh game—and lulled me into lowering my guard. By morning, the artifact was gone, and so was Hands. Blackbeard himself will hang me from the yardarm if I don’t deliver that cursed relic. We’ll send a squad to the Foothills. Quietly. …And damn me, the game really was excellent.

Once, a brave warrior who had a similar amulet challenged a monster. He fought it for three days and three nights and finally won. Some say he collapsed from exhaustion, dead atop the beast’s corpse.
