Angel Comb 1: Pressure Tolerance

Tutorial Angel Comb — automatic unlock

Encountered during opening prologue. Automatically grants Pressure Tolerance.

Angel Comb 2: Digestion

~200m NW of Lifepod in Shallows

Hovering above Anita’s Blackbox. Interact to unlock Digestion Adaptation and fish-cooking recipes.

Angel Comb 3: Heat Tolerance

~200m SW of Lifepod in Anemone Hills

Steps to Cleanse

1. Go to Wander’s Blackbox Location

Entrance to the area

2. Destroy Bloom Cankers with Sonic Resonator

Infected Juvenile Angel Comb

3. Cleanse the Juvenile Angel Comb (it blooms when cleansed)

Appearance changes after cleansing

4. Locate and cleanse the second Juvenile Angel Comb

Follow roots deeper into the area

5. Purify the Main Angel Comb

Destroy core cankers, interact with pink nucleus

Angel Comb 4: Axum Vision

~1000m East of Lifepod, 400m depth in Karakorum

Requires Feedback Resonator (upgraded Sonic Resonator). Armored Bloom Cankers snap shut when approached — use ranged attacks.

Steps to Cleanse

1. Cleanse 3 Juvenile Angel Combs first

Follow purple roots to find juveniles

2. Destroy Armored Bloom Cankers from long range

3. Cleanse the Main Angel Comb

Grants ability to read alien glyphs

Third Juvenile Angel Comb is hidden inside Cicada Wreck (Stairway to Heaven).

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve had to swim back to a cave because I thought ‘three is enough’ and then needed six more for the next upgrade. Mark the locations on your HUD.
